Obviously rain is the big story of the day, and we've had plenty of it. We are now approaching 4.5 inches in the past 24 hours, and in the last ten days we have received over 7 inches! It goes without saying, that the course is underwater, and probably will be for a few days. In the seven years I have been working here, I have only seen more water on the course one other time, and the rain is still coming.
Once the water recedes, the grounds staff has an enormous task ahead of them. There is a lot of debris on the course that will have to be raked up, fairway bunkers will have to be pumped, and the sand in all the bunkers will have to pushed back up the on the faces. It will be days before the course is back to normal. Until we can get to work, here are some pictures of what we are up against.
